Healthy Breakfast Habits that Set you up for Success

A productive morning sets you up for a productive day—for a lot of us, this starts with our first meal of the day. Creating healthy breakfast habits is an essential part of creating a productive morning routine. If you  find that your coffee is giving you jitters and a regular bowl of cereal just isn’t cutting it, we’re here to help. These are a few key things that you can do, substitute or change for your breakfast that will make your morning eating habits well-rounded, healthy and beneficial for you.

Incorporating these simple habits into your breakfast routine will help you start every morning right.

Wellness Shots on an empty stomach

Taking a wellness shot on an empty stomach can be beneficial because of the fast absorption you can enjoy. So before you make your morning cuppa, we suggest reaching for a wellness shot first. When there is no other food in the stomach, the body can quickly utilize the shot's nutrients and compounds.

Water when you wake up

Drinking water first thing in the morning immediately helps rehydrate the body. Imagine, when you sleep six to eight hours of sleep is a long period to go without any water consumption. Drinking two or three glasses of water right when you wake up is a good way to rehydrate your body quickly.

Swap your coffee for a cold pressed juice

Coffee usually gives you big highs and then huge crashes. But juice can help stabilize your mood and give you an energized start to the day. Plus it’s an easy, and effective way to get your fruits and veggies in!

Balance your breakfast

Eat breakfast foods that contain lots of essential vitamins and nutrients. A great way to do this is to incorporate foods from each of these food groups. Use this as your checklist the next time you want to build a balanced breakfast table for you and your family.

  •  Fruits/Vegetables: Berries, Citrus Fruits, Pomegranates, Grapes
  • Grains: Oats, Quinoa, Buckwheat
  • Protein foods: Chia Seeds, Eggs, Greek Yogurt
  • Dairy: Plant/Nut-Based Milks, Yogurt

Don’t forget the fresh fruit

All fruits are relatively low in calories and contain good amounts of fiber and simple sugars. The fiber in fruit helps slow your body's absorption of its sugars, giving you a steady source of energy to keep you going through the day.
